Thursday, September 6, 2018 - 11:48am

September 17-23rd is Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Week, an initiative of Hearts4Heart Australia.

Glebe Hill Family Practice is promoting awareness of the importance of screening and management of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) by providing free (bulk-billed) screening during this month.

What is AF?

AF is an irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that affects around 460 000 Australians, and increases the risk of stroke by 5 times.

Early diagnosis is crucial to prevention of stroke.
