COVID-19 Phase 1b Vaccine Clinics

Tuesday, April 6, 2021 - 12:17pm

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics at GHFP

COVID-19 Vaccine Phase 1B clinics start at GHFP on Saturday 10th April 2021. The clinics will be run on Saturday afternoons from 1pm.

Initially, we will receive an allocation of 50 doses of the Covid-19 Astrazeneca vaccine per week. Delivery is fortnightly. We expect to receive more doses per week as vaccine supply increases.

Priority population groups have been identified using public health, medical and epidemiological advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI). This advice is consistent with the World Health Organisation. Priority groups include people that would be at higher risk of serious illness if they contracted COVID-19, and those most likely to be exposed to it.

Phase 1b priority population groups include:

  • people aged 70 years and over
  • health care workers
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged over 55
  • younger people with underlying medical conditions, including people with a disability
  • critical and high risk workers, including goverment officials about to be deployed overseas on official government business.

People who do not have a Medicare Card can still receive a free COVID-19 vaccine, but not at GHFP. They will need to attend a GP led Respiratory Clinic or a state vaccination clinic.
