GHFP News July 2020

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 - 1:34pm

Through unprecedented and difficult times, Tasmania has done a commendable job. We'd like to extend our thanks to Dr Mark Veitch and the Tasmanian Public Health team, to all of the health professionals involved in testing and treating, and expecially to everyone in the community for doing their bit: hand washing, social distancing, isolating, quarantining, learning from home, working from home, using telehealth to consult with their health professionals, and getting tested when appropriate. It's far from over, and we thank everyone for their ongoing vigilance and care. The GHFP GP's have continued to offer safe in-surgery appointments as well as telehealth consultations throughout the pandemic. We intend to continue to offer the option of phone and telehealth consultations even if the Medicare Rebates are removed later in the year.

Medicare Rebates increase 1/7/2020

On 1/7/2020 Medicare Rebates will be indexed, meaning the rebates will increase slightly. Our Fees remain unchanged. This means that you'll be less out-of-pocket for your privately billed consultations.
