Glebe Hill Family Practice is a locally owned and operated private business founded by Kieran Frampton and Alice Frampton. Glebe Hill Family Practice opened for business on 12th January 2017. The practice is growing quickly. All of the General Practitioners at Glebe Hill Famiy Practice are currently accepting new patient registrations.

Glebe Hill Family Practice is a privately billing practice

Fees vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation.  Payment is required on the day of the consultation, by cash or card.  Your Medicare Rebate is refunded instantly into your savings or cheque account on presentation of your card.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am to 6pm

Wednesday and Friday 8:30 to 5pm

Saturday 9am to midday

Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Consultations

Our appointment system caters for urgent, non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventable healthcare.

Please discuss the urgency and the nature of your health complaint to allow our reception staff to appropriately triage your consultation.

Standard appointments are 15 minutes. If you need more time with your doctor please book a Long Appointment (30 minutes), or a Prolonged Appointment (> 40 minutes).

Home visits

Our General Practitioners may provide home visits where appropriate, as determined by the Doctor.

Walk-ins

Glebe Hill Family Practice operates on an appointment basis.

Walk-ins may be accepted, however there may be an unavoidable wait as priority is given to patients who have booked an appointment.

Recalls & Reminders

Glebe Hill Family Practice may from time to time send reminders or contact you to arrange recommended follow-up, check-ups, health assessments, care-planning, and immunisations. Patients will be contacted for recall where clinically indicated. We may contact you by secure SMS, email, phone, or post. Please inform staff at Reception if you do not wish to receive recalls and reminders.

Telephone Policy

Most issues are best dealt with in consultation with your Doctor, and he/she will endeavor to take your call where practicable. At times, your Doctor may be attending to other patients and may need to return your call.

Please inform our Reception staff if your call is urgent.

Test Results

Please book an appointment with your Doctor to obtain your test results, unless other arrangements were made at the time that your Doctor ordered your test.

Referrals and Prescriptions

Please book an appointment to obtain referrals or prescriptions.

Alternatively, requests for prescriptions and referrals can be made online from this website. Requests for prescriptions or referrals without an appointment will be done at the Doctors discretion. To requests a prescription or referral without an appointment, click on the purple Book Appointment button on this page.

Cancellations / Failure to attend an appointment

If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.  This allows other patients the opportunity to make an appointment. 

Failure to do so will incur a non-attendance fee of $30.

Patient Feedback and Complaints

You can provide feedback directly to any of our staff members or lodge a suggestion in the Suggestions Box in our waiting area.

We take complaints and concerns seriously. You may request to speak directly with the Practice Manager to discuss your concerns, or address your concern in writing to the Practice Manager, 45 Hance Rd, Howrah TAS, 7018, emailing  management@ghfp.com.au or by completing a complaints form at our practice and handing it directly to our Practice Manager. We will then attempt to resolve it within 30 days, in accordance with our complaints resolution procedure.  If you feel your complaint is not resolved adequately through the Glebe Hill Family Practice complaints procedures, you have the right to contact the Tasmanian Health Complaints Commissioner by phoning 1800 001 170 or emailing health.complaints@ombudsman.tas.gov.au
