Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Elizabeth (Liz) Schultz is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with more than 9 years of experience in providing exercise rehabilitation to clients from a variety of backgrounds and health conditions. She attained tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science and Business Management at the University of Ballarat, before also completing a Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. She has worked across all areas of the AEP profession including workplace injury management and rehabilitation, to specific health conditions including musculoskeletal injury and cardiometabolic disease. She is a mother of 2 young children and strong advocate of a healthy and active lifestyle.

What is an AEP?

An AEP specialises in clinical exercise prescription, health education and the delivery of exercise and Lifestyle modification programs for people who are healthy, have a chronic condition or injury. The aim is to prevent or manage chronic disease and injury and assist in restoring an individual to optimal physical function, health and wellness.

What service does an AEP offer?

  • Up to 1 hour consultations
  • Comprehensive initial assessment
  • Full explanations about exercise benefits
  • Discussion and planning of health goals
  • Development of an exercise program (individually tailored exercise prescription)
  • Exercise program instruction
  • Written communication/onwards referral to GP and other AH professionals
  • Ongoing assessment and training

What does my appointment involve?

Your initial appointment will be up to 50 minutes, which will involve assessing your needs and developing a plan to go on with. Your follow up appointments will be 30 minutes (extended appointments are available at an additional cost). These appointments will be reviewing your progress and further treatment/exercise prescription.

    Fees

    Initial appointment (50 minutes) $95

    Follow-up appointments: Standard (30 minutes) $75, Extended (50 minutes) $90

    A Discount Fee of $65 for all appointments applies for pensioners and health care card holders on production of valid card.

    A Medicare rebate of $52.95 may be available for patients who have:

    Private Health Fund rebates may be available, and vary depending on the type of cover. Glebe Hill Family Practice uses HICAPS for private health rebates.

    Liz is registered with NDIS.

    Referrals are welcomed from outside of Glebe Hill Family Practice.

    Fees for failure to attend appointments, and late cancellations, apply.
