Widespread COVID19 Testing

Sunday, April 26, 2020 - 9:15am

On 23rd April 2020 Public Health Tasmania advised that ALL Tasmanians with ANY cold of flu like symptoms (including mild symptoms) should be referred for COVID-19 testing.

Symptoms warranting COVID-19 testing include:

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath

What do I do if I have symptoms?

If you have symptoms, stay at home and use the phone!

Please book a Telehealth Consult or Phone Consult online or by phoning the surgery on 6169 0000.

The General Practitioners at GHFP will make an assessment during your Telehealth or Phone Consult and refer you to the COVID-19 testing clinic.

Once referred you will be contacted with an appointment time and location for your test. You will need to self-isolate at home whilst waiting for your appointment to be tested. Focussing on social distancing, hand hygeine and cough etiquette will help to minimise possible spread of the virus.
