Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture are locally owned and operated private businesses founded by Kieran Frampton and Alice Frampton

Glebe Hill Family Practice opened for business on 12th January 2017, and GHFP Nurture opened in the nearby Glebe Hill Village shopping centre mid October 2022.

New patients

The Physiotherapists practicing at Glebe Hill Family Practice are accepting new patients. The GPs practicing at Glebe Hill Family Practice are not currently accepting new patients. Some GPs at Glebe Hill Family Practice and at GHFP Nurture are able to accept a small number of new patients. Please enquire by phone noting that people living in the local area will be prioritised.

Private Billings

The Health Care Practitioners who conduct their practices at Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture operate on a private billings basis. This means there will be out of pocket expenses for the care you receive. Fees vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by your doctor or allied health practitioner. Payment is pre-authorised at booking and processed immediately after the consultation. Consultations

The practitioners' appointment system caters for urgent, non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventable healthcare.

Please discuss the urgency and the nature of your health complaint to allow our reception staff to appropriately triage your consultation.

How to make an appointment

  • use the AMS Connect app on your phone or tablet

Standard appointments are 15 minutes. If you need more time with your doctor please book a Long Appointment (30 minutes).

Home visits

General Practitioners may provide home visits where appropriate, as determined by the Doctor.

Walk-ins

Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture operate on an appointment basis. Walk-ins may be accepted, however there may be an extended unavoidable wait as priority is given to patients who have booked an appointment.

Recalls & Reminders

Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture may from time to time send reminders or contact you to arrange recommended follow-up, check-ups, health assessments, care-planning, and immunisations. Patients will be contacted for recall where clinically indicated. We may contact you by secure SMS, email, phone, or post. Please inform staff at Reception if you do not wish to receive recalls and reminders.

Please keep us up-to-date with your current contact details. 

Telephone Policy

Most issues are best dealt with in consultation with your Doctor. He/she will endeavor to take your call where practicable, however your Doctor is likely to be attending to other patients and may need to return your call.

Please inform one of our friendly Receptionists if your call is urgent.

Test Results

Please book an appointment with your Doctor to obtain your test results, unless other arrangements were made at the time that your Doctor ordered your test.

Referrals and Prescriptions

Please book an appointment to obtain referrals or prescriptions.

Alternatively, requests for prescriptions and referrals can be made online from this website or the AMS Connect App. Requests for prescriptions or referrals without an appointment will be done at the Doctors discretion. 

Cancellations / Failure to attend an appointment

If you need to cancel a GP appointment, please do so at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled GP appointment time, and 48 hours prior to your Allied Health appointment time. This allows other patients the opportunity to make an appointment. Failure to cancel with adequate time, or non-attendance of an appointment will incur a fee.

Patient Feedback and Complaints

You can provide feedback directly to any of our staff members or lodge a suggestion in the Suggestions Box in our waiting area.

We take complaints and concerns seriously. You may request to speak directly with the Practice Manager to discuss your concerns, or address your concern in writing to the Practice Manager, 45 Hance Rd, Howrah TAS, 7018, by email: [email protected], or by completing a Complaint Form at our practice and handing it directly to our Practice Manager. We will then attempt to resolve it within 30 days, in accordance with our complaints resolution procedure.  If you feel your complaint is not resolved adequately through the practice's complaints procedures, you have the right to contact the Tasmanian Health Complaints Commissioner by phoning 1800 001 170 or emailing [email protected]
