Travel Clinic

A Travel Clinic operates from GHFP Nurture (in the Glebe Hill Village shopping centre), and is available to both existing patients at our practices, as well as new patients.

GHFP Nurture is an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, and the Travel Clinic stocks most travel vaccinations which can be purchased from the practice on the day of your Travel Clinic appointment, including:

  • Yellow fever
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Typhoid
  • Rabies
  • Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis
  • Polio
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Influenza
  • Covid-19
  • Meningococcal ACWY
  • Meningococcal B

How to book into the Travel Clinic

To book your Travel Clinic appointment use this website or the AMS Connect app. Select GHFP Nurture, Select Travel Clinic, then book!

Please ensure that you complete your pre-appointment questionnaire including information about your travel itinerary, your medical history, current medications and past vaccinations, prior to attending your Travel Clinic appointment.

What to expect at your Travel Clinic appointment

Each Travel Clinic session is led by a Specialist GP with a special interest in travel medicine. At your Travel Clinic appointment you will be offered comprehensive health care relating to potential risks and prevention of serious illness whilst travelling. Appointments are usually 30 minutes long. For family groups travelling to the same destination we recommend phoning reception on 6169 0005 to arrange shorter bookings for younger children.

The General Practitioners consulting at both Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture provide travel medicine advice for their existing patients before and after overseas travel. Existing patients wishing to see their usual GP for travel advise and vaccinations should book a long appointment. GP's practicing at GHFP are not certified to provide Yellow Fever vaccination, so it's important to book a Travel Clinic appointment at Nurture if you're travelling to yellow fever endemic countries.

Cost

Travel Clinic appointments usually require around 30 minutes, and the fee is in line with our Long Appointment Practice Fees - see Fees for more information.
