Travel Medicine

GP's practicing at Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture offer Travel Medicine consultations for before and after overseas travel and can assist you with advice about Travel Health and vaccinations.

Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture stock vaccines which are commonly required prior to travel, including:

  • Influenza
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Meningococcal ACWY

If you require a vaccine that we don't have in stock we can order it into the practice for you, or arrange it via a prescription.

GP's practicing at GHFP are not yet certified to provide Yellow Fever vaccintion for those travelling to Yellow Fever endemic regions, but can help you to seek those services elsewhere.

General Practitioners can provide individualised advice and assessment regarding existing medical conditions, and destination-specific advice regarding disease prevention, including Malaria and other insect-borne disease and provide travellers with written material covering health concerns.

Make an appointment to talk with a GP about potential health risks and prevention of serious illness whilst travelling, and on return from travel. We recommend a long (30 minute) appointment to ensure adequate time to thorougly cover the assessment and management (including vaccinations) of your travel health needs.

Although appointments for vaccinations under the National Immunisation Program Schedule are bulk-billed, travel vaccination appointments are privately billed by your GP.
