Dr Marita Jones

MBBS, DCH (Westmead), FRACGP
Specialist General Practitioner

Marita grew up in Tasmania and trained through the University of Tasmania, the Royal Hobart Hospital and in rural Queensland. Marita graduated in 2011 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017. From a large family herself, Marita enjoys caring for families and helping people find a balance in life and health. Cooking, bushwalking and woodwork find time in between raising her young family with her husband, Tim. 

Marita enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially caring for every member of the family. Marita has a special interest in mental health, antenatal shared care, women’s health and paediatrics. Marita has experience in refugee health and enjoys working with people from diverse language backgrounds through interpreters.

Marita has training in skin cancer medicine, IUD insertion and removal, procedures, and joint injections. She also enjoys teaching through UTAS and General Practice Training Tasmania.

Sessions:

Fridays

Saturday once a month.
